Dance - Blue

This is the same background paper the only thing I did differently was to print it out on a pastel blue card stock, I did "Dance" digitally, so other than the ribbon this is a totally computer generated card. Hugs

Dance

Good Morning, that it is already Wednesday is totally bizzare to me, how do so many hours get away so fast?
My card this morning is dedicated to my blog friend Elise who hosts "Ballet News", a blog that inspires me and motivates me to stretch a little further and to always keep the dream in the frontal lobe. Thanks, Elise. Please be aware that she has some graphic pictures posted this week in honor of a cancer campaign, so if you have little ones on your computer you may want to check her sight out at a later date or block it so the little ones cannot access if you are so inclined. For the rest of you, what a fantastic interview and tribute to a cause that is so deserving of income.
This is an A2 card, created using the boarder from "Wall Decor", the flourishes and font are QK, all coloring done with Copic markers and the Airbrush system. Hugs

Stationary Box

Happy Tuesday everyone, this is one of my favorite stationary boxes, it will hold 24 A-2 cards with envelopes or 12 A-2 cards and an address book. These make wonderful gifts. I used one of my background papers and the raised butterfly on the note card is from a Martha Stewart punch. Hope all is well in your world today. Hugs

Cry Baby Award

Blog sisters are an awesome 21st Century phenomena, thrust together by shared interest, over time we are introduced to their husbands, siblings, favorite colors, style preferences, we often know where they live and get peeks into their kitchens and studios and fall in love with their furr babies. We know their birthdays and even some of their secrets, they are sisters of choice. And as is often the case they keep us on the straight and narrow - which in turn results in some family teasing. So with that said, I send Donna off to CHA, with prayers of safety and wishes of new adventures, good food, a little good wine, and as much fun as she can handle. Donna has won this award because not once but TWICE she posted this morning to my blog, pointing out that I had posted my Blog Candy Winner just a little early, as always I am touched and always grateful for those of you whom watch over me. Hugs

What an incredible card. So simple, yet so complex. I thought it was a watercolor technique until I read the details.

Bat and Cats and Witches Brew

It's Saturday, hope everyone is off to a good weekend start. I am continuing to play with background papers, this was done with Martha Stewart punches and the Copic Airbrush. The verbage is on a StampinUp tag. Then 2 cats, 1 witch and 2 bats were punched from dark blue card stock. A fun card, I am feeling the sharing this morning, so leave a comment and Monday at 6AM, I will pick a winner for 3 of the A-2 card blanks and 1 8 1/2 x 11 sheet for someone to play with. Take care and may some of your weekend be spent creating. Hugs

Fall 'n' Spice

Happy Friday everyone, here is a fun one, I had a great surprise this week, Shelly at Shelly's Images had a birthday and part of it was pressies she was sharing in honor of the day, well I was one of the grand prize winners. I got to choose 5 images. Being that I love FALL and especially pumpkins, this is one of the images I selected.
I used the image twice, background papers are bazzill the plum was embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. I used 2 metal photo corners and two patterned cut from QK. The word bar is from a StampinUp! punch. All colors - Copic Markers. The idea was inspired by a card DonnaM "PopsicleToes" did last week.
Now here is the really fun part ******** Shelly is sponsoring a contest on our BBTB2 Blog, so hurry on over, start thinking FALL and have a fun time creating. Hugs

BBTB2-Challenge/Fabulous Finds

Good Morning, our challenge this week to use hinges from "Fabulous Finds", this is a work horse cart and one of my all time favorites. We were also treated this week with digi stamps from "Shelly's Images", wow some great images, so please give her a visit. Our team used a wonderful combination so be sure to visit our Bitten By the Bug 2 Blog.

When I saw Lady Liberty, I knew I would be able to challenge myself further by doing a "verdigris" patina with my copics, it was harder than I thought it would be and I still need some practice, but all in all this was a fun challenge. I used "Making Memories" and "DCWV" patterned papers for this card. Misc. crystals and brads.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me.
I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

It's from a poem written by Emma Lazarus and was not actually added to the statue until 1901. While the statue was a gift from the French the pedestal was to be provided by America. Emma wrote the poem as part of the fund raising efforts for the pedestal.

Last but not least this is my first card completely done with the Gypsy. I have loaded all of my carts and she sits on my table with the Cricut, I have not used DS for a whole entire week. I love it. I took the Gypsy last week with me for a presentation on a commission I was seeking and my client was blown away with the presentation, she couldn't believe that she could see and choose her embellishments, right then and there. Happy Monday everyone. Hugs

BBTB2-Challenge/Storybook

Here we are again, Monday, challenge day. Our fun fun challenge this week was to use the neat owl from "Storybook". If you follow my blog you know I consistently create background papers and have been doing this for 30 or more years, when I was painting watercolors, they were called collages, lol. The Copic markers and airbrush system have thrown me into a new world of thinking and designing and I am having so much fun with it. This is a 5 1/2"X4 1/4" card, I created my background, then cropped with photoshop and printed it directly to my card, I then cut the owl and leaf using "Storybook" and "Wall Decor" and mounted them to the card, the tag is an Elison die and the hearts are from a small hand punch. The tag says, "Whooooooos got your back Baby?", inside it says, "I do - 24/7".

This is the same background paper just cropped differently to make one of my bookmarks. It says, "whooooooo done it?". I hope everyone has a marvelous week. Hugs

BBtB2 Challenge-Going Places-Puppy Kisses

Well, I really thought I was going to have to sit this challenge out, I got that faux virus, it just messes with your computer and your head. But a friend was able to delete it, YAYYYY! So a hearty thanks and hugs to Jeremy.
This is a 6X6 card, I created the background paper on my computer, the bones were cut with "Mickey & Friends", the dog and caution sign were cut with "Going Places" and the photo corners are Sizzix. Misc. ribbon and eyelets finished it off. I did it in the red, white and blue in honor of our Independence Day.
I hope everyone had a great holiday, with bunches of food and fireworks. Hugs

Butterfly Journal

Well I started out this morning, like a good girl, working on my project, I kept making stupid mistakes, the kind you make when you are not paying attention. This usually means I just need a complete play day, time to clear out my brain and work on things I have thought of but could not work on cause I was doing a project. So put everything away and brought out the toys and also allowed my eye to linger on a couple of books I have been reading. So back to my post, as a lot of you know I love, have a passion for closures, and while looking last week at a small clamp sitting on my studio table I had an idea and today put it to the test, it works and I am excited. This closure is removal if at some point you do not want a closure anymore and the if you decided you want it back you can do that too. The journal overall size is 4 1/4" X 6 1/4", the cover was created using 4 pieces of chipboard for the front and back cover, outer pp is by BoBunny Press and inner pp is by Foof a la. The inner journal pages were colored on the edge with a pale blue. This is all about ribbon, crystals (went a little crazy with those) and fun. I think in a post last week, I shared that I was excited with the Cinch because the holes were large enough to use eyelets and still bind - NOT - I knew that I had used the eyelets but when I researched it was with the coil binder not the o-rings, sorry if I misled anyone. So I have the covers done and have to figure out a different way to bind, so I used 1" binder rings, I really like the look of it, sort of industrial meets fem.
This is the journal without the clamp and open.
This is the clamp on the back, you are going to thread on side of the ribbon under the clamp then snap it down and tie.
This is the inside front without the closure and the ribbon tied on the front. Hope every one has a supper dupper 4th, stay safe. Hugs
