Boots and Guns

I did this card for a friend that is going through a South West phase.  Could not help myself, inside the card says, "I don't think we are in Kansas anymore, Toto".  These are all pretty much new elements for my stash, colors are Intense Inks and Micro Pens, background done with gesso and corrugated cardboard, font is traveling typewriter, Silhouette Cameo.  So much fun so little time.  Hope you are slip sliding safely into your week, we are getting ready for a rainy weekend beginning tomorrow, Hugs

Take a Paris Day

 Oh here we are at the end of the full second week in January, I have a lot to show for the two weeks but I am exhausted, lol.  So last night as I was musing through what I have done and what still needs to be done, I thought, okay, enough is enough, I need some breaks here.  This morning having partially forgotten my promises to incorporate some fun break times and going through the pictures from my friend that went to Europe last year, I came across a gorgeous Eiffel Tower shot, I wanted that tower, it took me well over three hours to finally master it into an element and then I paired it up with my new "love" word and my new hole re-inforcer, a stamp I created from a wine cork and inktense pencils.  The heart from another years labor.  I have vowed I will take a Paris Day twice a month, I will and beside that I am going to encourage some very hard working friends to do the same with this fun card.

Paris Time

A smidgen of play time this morning.  I wanted a thank you card for a friend who recently went to Europe and took some photos with me in mind.  This weekend while knee deep in a project, I notice I had a heavily distressed cutting mat and then wondered if I could do a background by applying some distress stain and then transferring it to card stock.  I used Ranger Peacock blue, Spun sugar and Vintage photo.  I am missing my gelli plate, but no where here for my paints, I really do like the way it turned out.  This morning I did a Silhouette Mint Stamp with a clock face and the rest just sort of happened.  I printed out the background twice cut 2 squares from the second one to write paris time with some splat and stamped a white cardstock circle with my clock stamp and wrote "Viva la france.  That is all the play for today, I must now get my nose to the grindstone.  Have a good one, hugs

Some 2015 Reflections for my 2016 year

This is an Art Journal Pocket I did for a challenge over at Tangie Baxter and Co.  Had some fun with Ranger Distress Inks, IntenseInk Pencils, Micro Pens and white acrylic.  Last year around summer I came across the word Emoji, since I don't interact much on social media I did some research and found out it is a Japanese word loosely translated meaning "picture".  So I decided I wanted a 2016 Emoji to go with me on my travels through 2016.  I decided on a worker bee as 2016 will require some hard work from me.  The bee has its head down and eyes are focused on the task at hand and I will probably share him often this year,  He was drawn with a micro 1. pen and Intense Ink pencils, some white ink and a calligraphy pen, then scanned it in and turned into an element with my Silhouette Cameo..  The stamp on the first card was done using a drawing and my Silhouette Mint,  Through out I used some thoughts from my jounalling in 2015.  It now hangs on the wall behind my computer so I can reflect on what I did last year.

Gold Dust and Roses

A special birthday card.  All shimmery for a January birthday.  A new background from spray sheets and fun little wonky rose from my journal.  Getting ready to greet 2016 here with organization and clearing out of unneeded supplies to the storage area.  Great project for this cold and much prayed for wet weather we are having.  Hope your slip in 2016 is safe and smooth.  Hugs

Inside of above card.  One of the things I gave up for now due to space and time constraints were my stamps, boy it was a hard decision and they are still missed a year later.  When Silhouette came out with the Mint stamp maker my imagination went crazy, the size of the Mint and the stamps and the possibility of storing them in a small place made it impossible for me to resist, lol.  They were the bulk of my Christmas pressies to friends and I have done a few for me also.  The Jan. block is one I am having so much fun with, the rectangles are blank on the stamp which allows me to hand write the day number and year, making them ageless.  I will also use this stamp to mark the back of my art work to keep track of when I did what.  It made a special tag though for the inside of this birthday card.  Yeah, Silhouette another "Oh how did I live without this?" product.  hugs

Ready for Christmas Dinner

I think I am done, got these projects finished up yesterday and all my pressies wrapped, whew, under the wire on this one.  The above are utensil wraps for dinner tomorrow, my roommates last name is White, ie the reference to dinner at the White House, lol.

These are the doggie (dear) bags for left overs, just a grocery bag and did a label with my Silhouette Cameo.  Wishing you and yours a very Merry one. hugs

Ornament Boxes

My roommate is hosting his family Christmas Dinner this year.  I did an ornament for each attendee and then slipped it into this box I designed with my Silhouette, they will hang on the tree using the little baker ties on top of the box.  So much fun, how in the world is it possible to do Christmas without a Silhouette Cameo?  Hope your days are on track and running smoothly, hugs

star flower giftie box

Well, I have to admit I have given my little star flower a work out this holiday season, but it has been a fun adventure working with it.  I needed a small giftie box and made a Christmas Tree using the flower,  Scanned it in and turned it into an element with my Silhouette Cameo.  The little star on top is also one of the flowers but just cut out from white card stock and then sprayrd with gold mist by Design Master.  The trunk extends over the side to create a closure for the box, more for looks as the end tucks inside to close.  I then cut out some tiny snow flakes and done.  The project was a little time consuming but once done it is now just a matter of pulling it up on the Cameo and cutting pieces out.  My little miracle tool.  Happy Holidays one and all.

Star Flower Christmas Angel

Do you believe in angels?  I definitely do and this year I did a Christmas Angel ornament using my new star flower.  We don't have a tree up yet so took a picture of it on a small tack.  I used colored pencils, inktense pencils and Neo Color II and white ink on watercolor paper, scanned it in and took it to my Silhouette to make the ornament.  She speaks of Peace, Love, Joy, Trust and Hope.  I wish that for all of you and a very Merry Christmas, hugs
