BBTB2-Challenge/SweetHearts

Happy Memorial Day Everyone! We have a blog hop this week and we so love sharing these with you. OurBBTB2 Challenge this week, "Sweethearts" cartridge hosted by the talented
Jeri Thomas.
The first thing that popped to mind was a wreath and I decided if I could find one I would do it but I was not going to search high and low for a wreath. I ran into the Salvation Army Store and there waiting for me was a grapevine wreath - PERFECT. I had all the chicken feathers and knew the chicken - so it is sort of a memorial to the chicken - works fine. Multi colored ribbons, some sea shell charms and the birdies were cut using the "50 States" cartridge. My favorite birds are on that cartridge.
My son took me to lunch on Mother's Day to El Torito's, it was mobbed and we spent an hour or so outside waiting for a table. They have these HUGE wooden doors and sitting perched on the door at the very top - 2 morning doves, it was as if they were greeting all the moms, and what made it even more special they were building a nest on the other side of the doors at the rain gutter junction. We had the best time watching them, one always remained on the door and one would fly off and return with a twig, or piece of paper, etc for the nest, place it and then fly back to the door. I think of them and that special day every time I look at the wreath.
I am the last one on the list for our blog hop so it is my pleasure to say thank you for visiting and hope you enjoyed.
My sharing for this blog hop is one post down, so sign-up as a follower and make a comment to this post and the 4X4 Post It Note Holder may fly out to you next week. If you are already a follower just leave a comment here. I will chose winner on Friday, June 4th using Random.org. Good Luck and have a safe and happy day, hugs.

4X4 Post It Note Holder

Happy Sunday, this is a 4"X4" Post It Note Holder, overall dimensions 4 1/2" X 4 1/2". The black and white side boarder is fabric, metal photo corners. A garter fastener acts as my closure with a sassy ribbon. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the front cover. A small piece of flower trim tops it off. If you really like this tune in tomorrow, it could be yours! Have a safe Holiday. Hugs

Butterfly and Poppy

Oh LOOK at this "T" shirt. My dear dear friend Carole Beath spoils me happy. She told me she was sending me a "T" shirt, love her embroidered "T"'s, but it had a pucker, she told me, I could only wear it around the house. It came today, I open the box and yes it does have a pucker but I saw embossed branches and my brain started talking to me right away, so I pulled out the copics, my "Stampin Up" Poppy Stamp and went to town. I LOVVE this "T" and it is now a wear out and be proud shirt. I also got a new photo corner punch, you will be seeing some new photo corners and this adorable bag that is suppose to house a camera but my ITouch slips in perfectly, so it has a new safe, warm, home. Happy Friday. Hugs
P.S. Saturday
I woke up this morning and the poppy needed a friend, so I did a baby for it. I am happier with it. I have lunch with my friend Linda today, so off to take shower. Happy Saturday everyone and Hugs

BBTB2-Challenge/Forever Young

Good Morning, Monday and a new BBTB2 Challenge. Heather Bares is our Hostess this week
and she has chosen the "Forever Young" cartridge for our challenge. This is a sassy and fun cartridge, so many darling icons. Please check out all the fab designs that happened this week on our Challenge Blog.

I have a new box this week, for those of you who don't know, I love boxes, don't know why, they just fascinate me. One thing I do NOT like is grocery shopping, and the reason why? Well I can't just run in and run out, Noooooooo, I roam the isles looking at the packaging, pick things up look at them, try to determine if they could be recreated. I will even catch myself and say "you do not have time to stand here and look at this box." Still do it though. This is a "Nob Hill" cookie box its overall size is 4 1/2" X 10", the cookies are good too so I brought one home last week and immediately took it apart, the sad thing is that if I want it the same size I cannot do it on my Cricut, it is too big, so I used a sheet of 18"X18" Martha Stewart card stock and used the cookie box as a template, I may try to scale it down a bit and create it in design studio. So many wonderful boxes, lol.
I cut it out, then sprayed it with Copic Marker BG72 and the airbrush, then on the front applied patterned paper I think it is from "Crate Paper" The dress from was cut three times from 110# card stock and also colored with Copic Marker, added crystals and a piece of ric-rac. The flower in the upper left hand corner is a wooden flower and I attached a tag with twine. I love all the texture on this piece. I used circular paper clips as closures. I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Hugs

The paper clay ribbon was colored with Copic markers and the airbrush system, misc. ribbon and the charm says, "Celebrate". The photo corners are by Cuttlebug.

Holly Medallion

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am feeling rather proud of myself, I finally got my ITouch all loaded up and wi-fi installed on my computer, let me tell you no easy task, lol. I downloaded a movie and it is almost as good as being there, I also downloaded a book using Barnes and Noble'ls e-reader app, wow!
This is a 6X6 card, background paper is K&Co. Merry Christmas is from a vellum stack I had. The medallion is paper clay and coloring was done with Copic markers and Copic airbrush. Hugs

BBTB2-Challenge/Tags,Bags,Boxes&More

Welcome to BBTB2 Challenge this week, please visit our challenge blog for more amazing designs.
Peggy Loves Vintage is our sponsor this week and oh the wonderful images provided, this was my favorite. I would love to be out on this little beauty right now. We were then further challenged to use a tag from Cricut cartridge "Tags,Bags,Boxes and More" one of my all time favorite cartridges.
I created a tag shape card, background paper by EKSuccess. Used a slot punch to run some ribbon through and then did a corresponding bow for the upper left hand corner. The sun is one of my paper clay pieces and coloring was done with Copic Markers and the Copic Airbrush System. "A Sailor's Life For Me" was computer generated. Happy Monday, Hugs

Happy Birthday Card

Good Morning, I hope all you Moms have a wonderful day and are all treated like queens.
When I first thought of doing these clay pieces the first thing that came to mind was polymer clay but having worked with it a lot, I felt it would be too heavy for a card, but I also just wanted to try it. This medallion was rolled out as thin as I could without fear of it cracking, I used transparent. It is a little heavier than the paper clay but will work. Because the clay has no absorbency the color lays on top and is a little softer. I do like the look of it though. I used the airbrush to distress the edges, the photo corners are Cuttlebug and the grape background paper is from my scrap bin so I cannot remember whose it is. Happy Sunday, Hugs

Paper Clay Butterfly

Happy Saturday all - the fun of this card was definitely the texture and color. The card is 5 1/2" X 5 1/2". The background paper is by Daisy D's, the oval was cut from fabric mounted to 110lb cardstock. Then there is ribbon, wire and a couple of crystals. The butterfly was done with paper clay and then colors are Copic markers. Have a safe weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms out there. Hugs

Copic Creations Challenge-Other Surfaces

When I saw the Copic Creations Challenge last week it peeked my interest and it went to the list of things to think about. One of the things that came to mind was polymer clay, the only thing is unless the item is small it often ends up too heavy for a card. Then the idea came to me to use Paper Clay, so I dug it out and have been playing with it this week. I love it when I get the opportunity to work with an item I haven't played with in a while, especially when I can put a new twist to it. PaperClay can be found generally at Michaels in the School/Kids craft area. If you have some and it has dried out a bit just renew it with some gentle kneading and water.
This is a 6"X6" card, the background paper (one of my all time favs) is Bloom n Grow by "My Mind's Eye". Photo corners by Cuttlebug. Dupioni ribbon with a hand made jeweled and beaded stick pin, the silver charm says "Love".
The leaf was first airbrushed with G0000, then I used Copic Sketch Markers E25, Y35, YG25, YG63 and YG97. I then gave it a couple of light coats of gloss. Happy Friday, Hugs

Spring Love

It has been so rainy here, I have moaned and groaned and whined since January, but oh my goodness I can now say it was worth it. Our neighborhood is alive with flowers, you can feel the energy, they dance and sway. The light flips and flops and prances off the beautiful colors and I could sit and just watch for hours. Any excuse to go outside is taken.
The background poppies are one of my line drawings and Martha's butterflies once again grace this 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I have used metal photo corners on the block. The background paper peeking through is BasicGrey "Indian Summer".
I hope everyone has a great Wednesday, Hugs

BBTB2-Challenge/Life's A Beach-Leaf

Good Morning, it is Monday, must be time for the BBTB2 Challenge. Our challenge was to use the leaf1 from Cricut cartridge "Life's A Beach. Please also check out the other amazing creations using this icon by my Design Team Sisters.
This card is 5"X7". The background mat was computer generated. The mat for the monkey was created using a background stamp by "StampinUp". The monkey was cut from Cricut cartridge "Paisley". The photo corners are by Cuttlebug, I cut them twice, once in black and once in red, then used the negative red pieces to fill in. Small hand punch hearts also at each corner. The monkey dangles from the "Life's A Beach" leaf1. A coloring was done with Copic markers and the Copic Airbrush System. A piece of decorative ribbon on the right side because it is so heavy on the left side.
My inspiration came from a NatGeo documentary - Wild Kingdom - The Western Ghats in India.

Tea Set Thank You

Good Morning, Happy Saturday. Another thank you card. Over all size is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I used three punches, the tea set is an old Marvey Punch and the heart is a corner punch but I cannot remember the mfg. The spoon is an Ellison Die cut. I used the Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" for my mat. All colors are by Copic markers and the Copic Airbrush System.
