Spring Bucket of roses

"
Geeze, my eyes are tired, my brain has turned off and I am done for the day.  Trying this week to get some of my stuff to this lap top.  Finally figured out how to get my fonts over and moving some of my Silhouette Library - but it has proven to be a bear, lol.  The bucket was created using a citronella candle holder using photoshop and Silhouette Studio, The bee is from "Beatrix Pottter" series on Silhouette Libray.  Roses were photographed in our back yard, jute bow and polka dot background was printed directly to card stock using Silhouette Design Studio.  The white flower bouquet in background from a previous element created using SD.  Being joyous with spring has blessed me this year.  Hope your days are filled with hope, love and laughter, hugs.

A Good Glass of Wine

A Happy Hump Day!  The other night at dinner the reflection in my wine glass caught my attention, my roommate by the way is getting used to me jumping up and grabbing my camera, lol.  The word block serendipitously (is that even a word?) showed up on the Silhouette Shop as a free download this morning, so I went with it.  A little jute bow and a printed checkered background and it was done.  I am making headway with my new learning curve on my Design Studio, but I still have a long way to go on my PhotoShop CC 2014, geeze it never ends, but it keeps me off the streets.  Have a great Wednesday, hugs

A card posted does not always mean it is finished, lol, I will do a card and look at it it off and on all day or maybe a couple of days.  Today it did not sit with me right that there were only two items, sometimes I will just go with two but I try to work with elements in threes.  The bunch of flowers was done today from a photo of a clump from our hedge.  It is now done, lol. hugs

You are on my mind

Happy Monday, all.  Wow, what an amazing few days I have had.  Last week my incredible, wonderful roommate came up with an idea to get my silhouette up and running in this tiny space.  So I went to the storage unit, pulled my cameo out and brought it back here to see if it would work and yes, oh my goodness it was a fit.  He had a wooden TV Table and it fits perfectly into my closet and then when I am ready to use the cutter I just pull it out a little and it is ready to go.  The only hang up was I did not have my Silhouette Studio loaded to this laptop.  Sooooooo, I downloaded, got it set up (or I thought I did, lol) there have been so many amazing updates since I last used it, I had to go through and figure out how to use it all over again.  I still have some boning up to do but this weekend I finally got it to work.  I created the card blank using the Cameo and a sheet of their patterned background.  The geranium and leaves were done with my Canon, the scanner for the leaves and then turned them into elements with the Studio Design Software.  There are some great changes and can hardly wait to become proficient with it again.  The card got some layering and some photocorners to the little word block and did some doodling on the white blank area with a fine Sharpie Pen.
Here is a closeup of some of the layering.  We have a gloomy day, perfect for doing some catch up with the software, so that is what I am off to do.  Have a great start to your week, hugs

It's Spring

Oh my goodness it is springs.  My roommates hedge in the back is covered with blooms, so my whimsical bird decided to perch amid the blooms of  a photo I took the other day.  Wishing you a Happy first day of spring, hugs

Puddy Tat?

Some days the only thing that gets me through is a little bit of humor.  I read an article in our local paper yesterday about a local author, he said it is not what he does but what he is compelled to do. That rang a bell with me, there are some days I am compelled to work with color, my fingers and my brain both need that manipulation, the pure joy of seeing light and shadows, colors flowing and then to play and put them together with photos or what not.  This chimenia has come to rest on my roommates back patio until my son takes it, in the meantime my roommates silly cat has claimed it for a perfect hiddy hole.  So my little birdie from this morning has paired up with it for some Wednesday humor.  Hope your day is filled with giggles, hugs

Spring Fodder

My camera has been busy this week, spring has taken hold and the flowers they are blooming.  This is a fun trick for anyone wanting to use their photos on cards.  In PhotoShop I created two different sizes of the same photo and printed them out, one I used as my background (the larger of the two) and the second one as my focal point.  I burnished the edges of the second one and mounted it with some mounting tape so it is dimensional.  The background photo was mounted in the other direction to give the focal point a little more dimension and interest.
Happy St. Patrick's Day, may the luck of the Irish be with you all, hugs

A Sunrise on Loss

Last week a very dear friend passed, his wife is like a sister to me and this morning as I walked outside with my cup of coffee with feelings of loss and despair I was greeted with this sunrise.  For minutes I could not move and then realized I had to go get my camera, I did and began shooting.  So many times over the last year as I would sink into a tunnel of totally alone and sad, mother nature would rise to her highest and pull me up, to smile, appreciate and give thanks.  Today was no exception, I have spent half my day, printing and cutting to share this card with one of my dearest friends.  It seems like such a small sharing and yet maybe those are the ones that protect the heart and forge the sword.  May the force be with you today, may you reach out and touch someone, even if it is only yourself. Hugs

Bloom Card

Yesterday on a walk I came across this bush in a bloom explosion and it is oh so fragrant.  It is a very good thing I caught it yesterday as today we are under some pretty dark and wet clouds, considering our drought conditions that is a very good thing and a blessing.  We will be back to dry and clear tomorrow though.  Today is the perfect day for a good book and some sweet smelling candles, yippee I have both. Hugs

Thinking of You

With my limited space and access to supplies, my camera will definitely be a much used tool.  The drought has been wonderful for the camellia bush outside the front door, they are popping out by the dozens.  A quick card using one them.  I love the sun shinning on the edges of leaf and flower.

Lavender in the front yard is also going haywire, lol, and oh how the bees are loving on it.  We are a little over cast today but weather says we are going to be in the low 80s, weird.  Hope this Tuesday finds you fit and living your day with joy, hugs

A Little Morning Fun

some morning fun and a shape card, birdie hand drawn and colored with Inktense pencils by Derwent.  Background from my stash on the hard drive.  We have black clouds and overcast but just don't think we will get the rain, Happy Monday, hugs
