Candy Canes

Dear Friend Carole Beath agreed to see if her Wal-Mart had the "Bloom" cart because non of mine here did. She found it - picked it up and along with it she sent me "Sugar and Spice" boy does that girl know how to pick you up when you are sliding down a cliff, lol. I quit smoking, two weeks now but it has not been an easy road, however, Sugar and Spice helped divert my attention considerably, thanks you Carole. One of the things I do with a new cart when I am exploring it, is to take an image I am interested in and blow it up big and then rotate it on my mat, it gives me different perspectives. I was intrigued with the bird nest and that is what my second layer over the Christmas Paper from a stack is. Large - it looked like a pile of ribbons to me. The candy canes - Sizzix, photo corners QK, the embossed oval was done with a Sizzix/BasicGrey Embossing Folder. All colors Copic Markers and the Airbrush System. Have a great weekend. Hugs

All coloring was done with Copic markers and the Airbrush. Happy Thursday, Hugs

Happy Birthday/ICopic Challenge

This is a card I did for the ICopic Challenge, they have challenged a card using red, yellow and blue.

This is a perfect example of why I am in love with the Copic Markers and Airbrush system. All color except for the black was done with the Copics. The card is 5"X5", I then did a 4"X4" sqr. with a QK scalloped sqr cut in the center, I then punched the Martha Stewart candle boarder punch on the bottom. The circles were done with misc. circle punches. Misc. ribbon for embellishment. The inside of the sqr. was first sprayed with the red, yellow and blue and then embossed with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Folder. Happy Tuesday, Hugs

Flamingos of Another Color

Good Morning - Good Morning. It is a Monday so must be BBTB2 Challenge. Our hostess this morning is Melissa, great pick for our challenge Melissa, Thanks. Please visit our Challenge Blog for some outstanding Designs - everyone-out did themselves with this wonderful "Life is a Beach" Flamingo. Our challenge was to use the flamingo cut in anything but the traditional flamingo color of pink. I was soooooo excited when I realized that this could also be submitted to the "Oh Alice" Challenge, definitely one of my favs!
Other than the flamingos, ribbon and hearts this card was done totally with a double sided sheet of "Graphic 45" pp, "Hallowe'en in Wonderland". This is truly one of my favorite papers, it has boosted "Flutter Butter" to number 2 on my list. There is some bling added, the eyes of the flamingo and 3 black gems in the center, bottom. Have a wonderful week. Hugs

The Wedding Book

This book was created for the groom of a very special bride, she wanted him to have her vows written as a list of promises to keep for always. I am not posting her vows but am posting the inside cover and title page. I wanted to replicate the look of leather for the covers, so over the course of several days with my Copic markers and airbrush came up with a layer of colors that worked, I then used an Ancient Page Dye Ink pad a texture stamp for some of the veining. When it was dry I closed my eyes lifted up the sheet and crumpled it several times and then ironed it on the back side. It worked! I used the large scalloped metal photo corners with my Home Pro and bound it with the Cinch. The label tag was cut with Bags,Tags Boxes and More, the candles were cut with Joys of the Season.

Then it was on to the box that would hold the book, this was truly a challenge, it was also about the time I was preparing to begin the great QUIT SMOKING saga. So my patience level has been rather low. This box about pushed me over the edge, but I am glad I stuck with it. It was designed with Design Studio and it is a whole other post but I will say that it is 2 pieces. Do you see the glass blown mermaid on the side (wow was that ever a find). She is his Mermaid. I did the leather look on the outside and inside sprayed it a dark green. Their wedding colors were green and purple.
For the inside front and back covers I used the front and back of their invitation. For the book which had 20 pages I printed out the title page and her vows (promises) on an ivory linen and attached it to the book page I used watercolor paper for the book pages. The photo corners were the same leather look as the covers as well as the swirl which is QK. The happy couple are off to Disney Land this morning and then onto Cabo - and they will live Happily Ever After. Have a great Sunday. Hugs

Love You

Happy Saturday one and all. Today is the wedding day of a very special couple, I was honored to be asked by the bride to create the grooms gift, so I have been very busy, I created a book filled with the brides "promises" to her soon to be husband, I will post those tomorrow. This is the card to go with the book. She is his Mermaid, he is her Ninja, is that sweet or WHAT? So did I order the Tilda Mermaid for this card? You betcha! I just love this stamped image, along with the banner. The photo corners are rather serendipitous, they are the negative part of the Martha Stewart crease corner punch, I thought they looked like coral. The background paper which is just PERFECT, is from the SeraSera Stack by K&Co. All colors were done with Copic Markers and Copic Airbrush System. Hugs, Sandi

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday, we have a beautiful day going here, I am looking forward to a great weekend. I have not had a cigarette in a week now and although I still have some panic moments, I think I have slayed the beast, I guess only time will tell. I have been working with some Christmas card designs on and off the last few weeks and really liked this one so thought I would share.
The card is an A2, embossing with the BasicGrey/Sizzix folder and Sizzix die for the holly berries and leaf. Photo corners QK, all coloring done with Copic markers. The embossing under the "Merry Christmas" is a Cuttlebug Boarder folder. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hugs

Good Morning - Happy Monday - A BBTB2 Challenge for you this morning, our challenge - the teacups from "Joys of the Season" and our hostess is the wonderfully talented Marina. I have not done an Alice card in a while and was playing with the cat face from "Meow" and this just sort of happened, it made me laugh, hope it gives you a good giggle to begin a new week.
Overall size is 6"X6", background paper by "BasicGrey". The teacups were welded and cut with DesignStudio. The photo corners are Sizzix, the oval is Nesties. All coloring was done with the Copic Markers and Airbrush System. For the Cheshire Cat, I laid in colors using warm greys, W2,W3 and W5, then with a .04 line pen I did the hatching. The stamped paw print was done with an unidentified, ancient stamp. Have a great week. Hugs
