Fun with Candy Cups

This is really a lot of fun, very little expenditure of time and monies.  They are releasing the seasonal cupcake and candy cups.  I was looking at them thinking these are really cute, but who is really going to turn their candy cup over and see this skull and bones?  That is when I had the idea, so took them home.  first you want to iron the cup out, I spritzed it just a tiny bit first, then mounted it to a 2" circle, the cup is about 3 to 3 1/2" in diameter so trim around the circle when you have adhered the cup to the circle (FYI it is best to apply adhesive to the circle only) and punched it out. Once you have the 2" circle you then take a 1 1/4" punch and center it or off center it a bit on the skull and punch, you now have 2 pieces to your embellishment.  I have posted the finished card below.  The only the other thing I used was my new favorite paper tape, this stuff gets better and better, I squealed with delight when I realized that I could punch out photo corners, so I went a little crazy.  The background block was fun also, I cut the filigree block from Cricut Cart "Straight from the Nest" then used it as a stencil and airbrushed a block, then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

For those of you who liked my new banner photo, that was taken at lunch with my friend Linda on Monday, we had a grand time at a shopping center called "The Fountains",  we had some wonderful Margaritas there.  Happy Wednesday. Hugs

I love the set up on this card. The lovely colors, that black and white polka dot paper that pops off the page, the ribbon.... Love it.
